SEO means „search engine optimization“. The purpose behind such an optimization is getting a good page rank on search engines like Google. The page rank determines how far up on a list your page will appear if people search for content that you page provides. If you provide all this content you want to have it found, don’t you? There are some basic rules that will boost you page rank. Let us share some of them with you.

- Let some important keywords appear bold.
- Become linked to by lots of pages. Especially valuable are links to sub pages of your site.
- Get widgets for social bookmarking so people can share links to your web pages on social networks.
- Get multiple domains to cover different topics. This will raise the probability the at least one of your pages will be offered by the search engine. Usually, search engine will only offer one or two links to a domain and additional content won’t be found.
- Assign descriptive titles to your link. This will be honored by some search engines.
- Avoid that all you incoming links have the same title by given slightly different page names to your sub pages.
- Create a site map which links to all of your pages and can be reached by a single click. This can also be established by a navigation bar on small sites. Such a map will guarantee that a search engine finds all of your pages by crawling through links of a depth of two levels only.
